How do I pick a winner?!

We get customers asking us "How do I pick a winner?!" - we can't promise that basing your wagers on any of the information provided is going to guarantee a winner. It's a race, it's based on a live event, and just like in any sport - every competitor has a chance of winning. HOWEVER, there are things you can do to increase your likelihood:

  1. Wait until closer to the time the race goes off. Waiting until several minutes before a given race means you'll have far more up to date information. You'll see who's got the majority of money wagered on them, and you'll see the latest picks/odds for first, second and third.

  2. Place and Show wagers have a higher likelihood of winning over Win and First 2. Place means you're choosing a competitor to come in 1st OR 2nd, Show means 1st, 2nd or 3rd....that means you have a greater chance of winning, because you're not making an "exact" bet. Yes, your payouts will be less, but your chances of winning increase. I often put a place bet on the third place finisher when I want a riskier bet with a higher payout. Why? Well because the likelihood is fewer people have wagered on that competitor, so there will be more money in the pool with fewer people to split it between. It doesn't always work out, but when it does....

  3. Watch the "Favored for X" closely - the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place favored for info also includes the pool totals - so that's the amount customers have wagered for the competitor to come in 2nd or 3rd. Those pool totals can get large and provide great opportunities for winning, especially if you bet on a slightly longer shot.

We can't promise you you'll win using any of these strategies, but our goal/hope is that you win 100% of the time. We want our customers winning, and continue to try and find ways of helping them win!
